I am a Muslim and Pakistani by nationality.

I have recently been following the case of Asia Bibi and i condemn her treatment and punishment.

I am an educated and practicing Muslim i read Quran on daily basis and always read upon way of the life of our beloved Prophet Mohamed (may the peace be upon him). The Quran speaks about Jesus Christ in best and highest words as a prophet of Allah/God.

I believe the version of story told by your site. The villegers be Muslim or Christian were both of same level of understanding of their faiths. Iliterate and ignorant in their own ways, Asia Bibi was provoked into saying what she said and she is not to be blamed for it as the ignorant Muslim women are at fault for speaking to her in the way they did.

This is not the way of Islam, Allah, Quran or any of Islamic prophets, messengers and scholars. I read in Quran and Hadiths (ruling by the Prophet Mohamad (PBUH) always prefer and promote forgiveness rather than punishment in such cases.

The extent of mercy and forgiveness is well demonstrated in a very well known incident in the life of our Prophet (PBUH) when he was badly injured and stonned by people to whom he had given message of Islam. Allah sent angel Gabriel asking him how these people should be punished and he (PBUH) replied he would rather have some believing people amongst them rather than have them all killed as punishment.

This is just one of incidents there were countless such incidents in the life of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who was serverly persecuted for his belief in one God amongst the pagan community. Please use such incidents in her defence.

This case is religiously, socially and morally wrong her sentence should be quashed as there is an over whelming pressure for her conviction which demonstrates religious descrimination and unfairness in her case. And an example should be made of Muslim people who bring such cases against non Muslims. She should have been protected as a Pakistani citizen against accusers who would not be pleased with anything less than death penalty.

I am a student of Islam and law and i believe that everyone should be respected for their differences. I have lived in non Muslim countries all my life and have personally come across much of religious descrimination and abuse so i know how it feel to be on the other side. I strongly believe this is not a case of Toheen-e-Risalat (blasphamy) but a case of descrimination, prejudice and a majority pressure against a minority member.

The justice should prevail, Asis Bibi’s case should be explained, sentenced quashed and she should be offered protection for herself and her family.
