Idealized in 2005, Mercy Train was created, founded and brought to reality by Skip Prokop and son Jamie Prokop shortly there after. The members of MT are no-nonsense individuals who have an unrelenting passion for music and will not compromise either their faith nor their chosen styles of music when it comes to experimenting with different genres and flavours of our musical culture. They tend to abide in the "We'll play whatever we feel like and if you don't like it...don't listen" rule. The guys just want to be able to express themselves and pay tribute to all those that influenced their musical stylings and sound. With a group of very talented musicians, including Bassist Ryan Ethier and accomplished Guitarist Matt Shelvock MERCY TRAIN has been working on a full length CD of original compositions and has been building a sound that is both unique and soulful and lacks nothing short of perfection. Their blend of Acoustic & Electric sounds will sooth the hardest, and pound on the softest of hearts with their groove-based material..

Laurie Marks Vincent
The Café chats with Laurie Marks Vincent, a Christian speaker, inspirational author, songwriter, recording artist and an award winning vocalist. Signed to Great Spirit Records in New York, she uses all of her gifts from the platform to powerfully communicate a message that challenges the strong and lifts the weary. Women's ministries and general audiences alike are moved by her ministry to effectively reach people where ever they are in life. Her own personal journey and testimony of emotional and physical healing is a powerful tool that has stirred hearts in faith to receive from God.
Laurie has been singing in church since she was 6 or 7 years old. She always loved Jesus as a little girl but she dedicated her life to The Lord when she was 10 years of age and recalls the call to ministry ever since that time. Laurie was also dedicated to pursuing her gift with excellence. She has won the title of "Best Female Vocalist" in three Talent Searches which included one duet category with her sister. Laurie also won a Talent Search by audience appeal (largest number of votes) with no supporting fans in the audience. She had released 2 recordings "Sharing His Love" and "When You Reached In My Heart" and her third Cd was released in 2004 entitled "Love So Amazing". The title track "Love So Amazing" has been in the top 50 of the American Idol UndergroundFaith Charts, 7 times and reached as far as #6 on the chart among over 600 songs in the running. She has appeared on national television several times, done radio interviews and her music has been played on Christian radio, predominantly in Canada, as well as Europe and United States
Robert Cohen
Does milk does a body good? We end our Month of interviews on Health and Wellness with this can’t miss interview of Robert Cohen who says the opposite. After listening to Robert you may never drink milk again.
Robert Cohen wrote the book”Milk: The Deadly Poison” after researching the whole milk issue whilst gathering evidence to present against the approval of the use of recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBHG). This hormone injected into cows and approved for use in the USA increases milk yield. Fortunately the European Union (EU) saw fit to impose a seven year moratorium on the use of rBHG in the EU; this moratorium ends in on 16 December 2002.
What happens when this moratorium ends? In Cohen's words "Some people just do not want to listen". Robert Cohen is so firm in his belief about this that he went on a hunger strike over the issues involved.
Cohen presents detailed analysis of the evidence he found; unfortunately some of his research was blocked with a statement that "Release of the information would cause substantial competitive and financial harm to the company...”
As Cohen probed deeper and deeper into the issues he discovered that milk is far from the wonder food the dairy industry tells us it is. An increasing number of people suffer allergic reaction to milk and the substantial argument throughout the book is the fact that cow’s milk is not a natural food for the human race; after all do we see cats drinking dog’s milk?
Data presented in the book shows that communities that don't consume milk suffer far less incidence of disease (example given relates to breast cancer). There is the suggestion that Mad Cow Disease is more prevalent in the World than previously believed. There is the overhanging evidence presented in The Times (UK) (23 Aug 97) that a 24 year old vegetarian had contracted the human variant of Mad Cow Disease - Cruetzfeld-Jacob Disease. All this leads me, a former dairy farmer, to believe that the argument Cohen presents must be thoroughly investigated URGENTLY, certainly there must be no question of further approval of the use of rBHG - added to that the whole food safety argument presented against milk as we know it must also be looked at in detail.

Dameco Breaks the Silence
Back in January, P4CM member Dameco wrote a blog on her myspace entitled Overcoming Masturbation, which testified to her 7 year battle with masturbation and God's power to deliver her from this sin. Since then, people from all over the world have been writing in saying that they too have battle with this sin and did not know they could be free from it until they read her testimony.
